Remembering September 11, 2001

Where was I 10 years ago?
I was a senior in high school. I was sitting in Mrs. Byl's Senior English class. Someone came in and told her what was going on and she relayed the information to us. I was so shocked and saddened! I remember that we did not do much in any of my other classes that day. We watched the news so we could keep up with what was going on. We were able to use our cell phones in class to call our parents without getting in trouble and having them taken up.

I will never forget what happened that day.
God Bless those who serve, who have served in the past, and those who have died while serving. Thank you for helping protect our freedom and this country that we all dearly love. My heartfelt prayers go out to those families who lost their loved ones ten years ago.
Never forget.

It's Been Awhile...

It has definitely been awhile!

We have some catching up to do!

I had planned to just be a substitute teacher this school year. I started out August by helping my friend Kerri set up her classroom. She moved from third to second and from one side of the building to the other. I had quite a few sub jobs in the month of August. Then, one day when I was at Ragsdale visiting mom, the principal asked me if I wanted to supply (basically, a long-term substitute, usually when the regular teacher goes out for maternity leave). I was a first grade teacher for two months and loved it! After that was over, I figured I would just go back to subbing regularly. I had a one-week break and got an email about another supply position. The supply teacher they already had accepted a full-time position in another county. I got the email at 1:45 on a Friday and started second grade the following Monday. Talk about being thrown into a situation! Whew! I finished up the second grade position two days before Christmas break and was informed that I would be supplying again at the same school...this time in Kindergarten...starting in January. I was going to go in the day after I had finished in second grade and meet the kiddos, but mother nature had other plans. Thursday was an ice day! I knew that Friday would be crazy, because...a)It was the day after an ice day...b)It was the day before Christmas break...c) It was holiday party day...and d)It's a group of five and six year olds. But, I needed to meet the kiddos and get somewhat acquainted with the routine, so I did it. And it was CRAZY! The kids seem really sweet! I was helping set up for the party, meeting parents, getting the kids their food, stuffing stockings, passing out presents...OH MY! I had to go pick mom up from work and I was exhausted! I am really looking forward to teaching these babies come January 4th!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I will be posting pictures from the happenings around here (snow, family, etc.) as soon as I get everything uploaded onto the computer!

Until next time...

Christmas with Dad's Side of the Family...

For the last several years, my uncle Danny has taken us to the Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle, Georgia. This wonderful Christmas dinner has been his Christmas present to us. They serve down-home, Southern food. It is absolutely delicious! If you ever get the chance to go there, please do. You will not regret it!
Meme got her picture taken with Santa Claus.

Once we got back to Meme's, we stayed for a bit. This is her cat, Frisky.

Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling

This was my second TNA Wrestling Show. I really like how the TNA wrestlers come out and sign autographs before the show. Some of them just sign and move on, others will actually speak to you and have a short conversation. Usually, after the show, they have "Autograph Parties" where some of the 'bigger' stars come out. I went with my brother, Kim, Aaron, and Aaron's friend, Chan.

Jeff Hardy

They also have this thing they do after shows where you and your group can get a picture with one of the stars. Last year, when Aaron and I went, it was the tag team Beer Money (Robert Roode and James Storm). This year, it was Jeff Hardy! Kim and I were so excited because we had been a fan of Jeff's since he made his debut as one half of the Hardy Boyz in the WWF (a long time ago!). He was super nice and very easy to talk to.

My First Ever UGA Game!!

It's a Friday night. I'm babysitting. I get a text from my cousin, Aaron, stating that one of his friends, who is a season ticket holder, can't go to Saturday's UGA game and is looking to sell his tickets. Aaron asked if I would be interested. Um, DUH! So, my mom and I rode to Athens with Aaron and his wife, Ashley to watch our beloved Dawgs take on Idaho State.

This is, hands down, the best conference EVER!

Red Coat Band

Here they come!

It was SO cold! I don't know how those guys stood being out there in nothing more than shorts and body paint.

Dawgs win!!

Post-game. We were so ready to get back to the warmth of Aaron's truck!

Even though it was uncomfortably cold, I would do it again in a heartbeat! Can't wait for my next game!
