It has definitely been awhile!
We have some catching up to do!
I had planned to just be a substitute teacher this school year. I started out August by helping my friend Kerri set up her classroom. She moved from third to second and from one side of the building to the other. I had quite a few sub jobs in the month of August. Then, one day when I was at Ragsdale visiting mom, the principal asked me if I wanted to supply (basically, a long-term substitute, usually when the regular teacher goes out for maternity leave). I was a first grade teacher for two months and loved it! After that was over, I figured I would just go back to subbing regularly. I had a one-week break and got an email about another supply position. The supply teacher they already had accepted a full-time position in another county. I got the email at 1:45 on a Friday and started second grade the following Monday. Talk about being thrown into a situation! Whew! I finished up the second grade position two days before Christmas break and was informed that I would be supplying again at the same school...this time in Kindergarten...starting in January. I was going to go in the day after I had finished in second grade and meet the kiddos, but mother nature had other plans. Thursday was an ice day! I knew that Friday would be crazy, because...a)It was the day after an ice day...b)It was the day before Christmas break...c) It was holiday party day...and d)It's a group of five and six year olds. But, I needed to meet the kiddos and get somewhat acquainted with the routine, so I did it. And it was CRAZY! The kids seem really sweet! I was helping set up for the party, meeting parents, getting the kids their food, stuffing stockings, passing out presents...OH MY! I had to go pick mom up from work and I was exhausted! I am really looking forward to teaching these babies come January 4th!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I will be posting pictures from the happenings around here (snow, family, etc.) as soon as I get everything uploaded onto the computer!
Until next time...
